Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) visited Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University, where he participated in a special interactive session with faculty members, teachers, and students aimed at raising awareness about national security challenges and emerging threats in the modern era.
The DG ISPR received a warm welcome upon his arrival at the university, with participants describing the session as an important opportunity for direct engagement on issues related to security, media awareness, and responsible citizenship.
Discussion on National Security and Hybrid Warfare
During the session, the DG ISPR spoke in detail about national security issues, including counterterrorism efforts, hybrid warfare, and the growing challenge of information warfare. He also answered questions from students and faculty members on various contemporary security matters.
He emphasized that in today’s digital age, young people must remain vigilant against misinformation campaigns, fake news, and negative propaganda designed to create confusion and instability.
Responsible Use of Social Media
Participants appreciated the discussion, saying the session provided valuable awareness regarding the responsible use of social media and the importance of verifying information before sharing it online.
Students noted that the spread of unverified content and coordinated disinformation campaigns poses serious risks, making media literacy and fact-checking increasingly important for the younger generation.
Tribute to Armed Forces
Teachers and students paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces for national defense and reaffirmed their solidarity with the country’s security institutions.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Khan said that the youth have an important role to play in promoting stability, unity, and progress in the country.
Students from Waziristan especially welcomed the initiative and described the session as a constructive and meaningful engagement that addressed many concerns and misconceptions related to national security and digital information challenges.
