Bajaur: Security forces in Lower Mamund, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, foiled a complex terrorist attack on the Damangi Scouts camp of the Frontier Constabulary through a strong counter-operation. According to initial reports, militants first carried out a suicide blast and then attempted to storm the camp, triggering a heavy exchange of fire.
So far, 3 militants have been killed, while the area has been fully cordoned off and a clearance operation is underway to track down fleeing attackers. Six FC personnel were injured in the clash, identified as Lance Naik Ahmed, Soldier Ehsan, Havaldar Arshad, Naik Muslim, Lance Naik Kifayat, and Lance Naik Waheed. All injured personnel have been shifted to hospital for treatment. Security officials reiterated that operations under Azm-e-Istehkam will continue until the complete elimination of terrorist networks.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the attack. A local commander, Malang Bacha, said in an audio message that the assault was a response to alleged Pakistani strikes in Afghanistan’s Kunar province. The statement has intensified concerns over cross-border militancy and the use of Afghan soil for attacks against Pakistan, contradicting Kabul’s stance on the issue.
