Chief Minister of Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti has reiterated the policy stance of both the provincial and federal governments regarding national security and counter-terrorism, stating that the state has always acted like a compassionate mother toward its citizens. However, he emphasized that a zero-tolerance policy will remain in place for terrorists and their facilitators who harm the country’s integrity.

Sarfraz Bugti said that the fundamental principle of the state has always been a combination of compassion and strict discipline. He clarified that individuals who, influenced by terrorist propaganda, false narratives, and misleading ideologies, return to the national mainstream are always given an opportunity, protection, and a dignified reintegration under the state’s collective wisdom. He stressed that this is not a personal decision of any individual but a continuation of consistent state policy, institutional practice, and national strategy.

The Chief Minister of Balochistan further stated that government and state institutions have, on multiple occasions, reached out with strength and purpose to those misled by enemy propaganda and terrorist organizations, as reconciliation and rehabilitation have always been part of the national strategy in the larger interest of the country. However, he made it clear that there is no ambiguity in Pakistan’s stance regarding terrorists, their facilitators, and external sponsors.

He emphasized that terrorism is not merely a security issue but a structured proxy war against Pakistan’s stability and sovereignty. Armed actions against the state and its institutions challenge state authority, and therefore action against such elements is necessary and unequivocal. Referring to checkpoints, he noted that these were reduced on public demand to facilitate easier movement for citizens.

He concluded by stating that Pakistan’s policy is clear: there is room for rehabilitation of misguided individuals, but there is zero tolerance for terrorism.
