Afghanistan’s Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Maulvi Ahmadullah Zahid, has led an official delegation to Bangladesh in a move aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and opening new markets for Afghan businesses.
According to a statement from Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation includes around 50 Afghan traders and businessmen.
During the visit, both sides will hold detailed discussions on boosting trade relations, expanding exports and improving import and export facilitation.
The talks will also cover joint investment opportunities and practical steps to strengthen long term economic cooperation between the two countries.
Officials said the two sides are also expected to discuss the signing of memorandums of understanding to support future collaboration.
The Afghan government says the main goal of the visit is to help local traders find new markets, increase exports of Afghan products and build stronger regional economic links.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce believes such engagements are important for supporting economic growth, encouraging trade development and improving the overall health of the national economy.
The visit reflects Kabul’s efforts to diversify its trade partners and create more opportunities for Afghan businesses in the region.
