Hamas political leader and spokesperson Dr. Khaled Qaddoumi has expressed full satisfaction with Pakistan’s diplomatic role and principled stance on the Palestine issue, stating that the actions of the Government and people of Pakistan are viewed with great respect within Palestinian political circles. He made these remarks while speaking to the media during a visit to the Karachi Press Club on Friday.
Dr. Qaddoumi said that an immediate ceasefire is an international responsibility to stop the ongoing campaign of genocide in Gaza. However, he added that Israel continues to violate ceasefire agreements, thereby sabotaging prospects for peace. He urged Islamic countries that are part of the “Gaza Peace Board” to take serious notice of these grave violations and to use their full influence to halt Zionist attacks.
The Hamas leader, citing a recent United Nations report, revealed that US-made bombs were used in Gaza with such extreme heat that human bodies were vaporized in the air. As a result, he warned that the actual number of martyrs could reach up to 200,000.
According to analysts, Dr. Qaddoumi’s statement is clear evidence of Islamabad’s growing credibility at the international level and Pakistan’s diplomatic acceptance within Palestinian political leadership. Pakistan has consistently maintained that an immediate end to Israeli military operations and the protection of civilians are essential for lasting peace in the region.
Through its participation in the Peace Board, Pakistan has once again reaffirmed its commitment to supporting an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.
