LAHORE, March 26 — Defending champions Lahore Qalandars began their HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 campaign in dominant fashion, defeating debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen by 69 runs in the tournament’s opening match at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.
The Qalandars delivered a commanding all-round performance, setting a strong tone for their title defence with both bat and ball. After posting a competitive total, their bowling attack dismantled the Kingsmen lineup, securing a comprehensive victory.
Lahore’s performance highlighted their intent to continue their winning momentum from the previous season, with key players stepping up in both innings.
Hyderabad Kingsmen, playing their first PSL match, struggled to cope with the pressure of the big stage and failed to build partnerships during the chase.
The PSL 11 opener sets the stage for a highly competitive season, with teams aiming to challenge the reigning champions early in the tournament.
