Islamabad – Pakistan has strongly rejected claims circulating in Afghan and Indian media that the Taliban government denied visas to Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Chief Lieutenant General Asim Malik.
The story, first published by Afghanistan’s Tolo News and later picked up by several Indian outlets, alleged that multiple visa requests from Pakistan were rejected over the past three days. Pakistani officials, however, dismissed the report as “a totally fake story with zero factual basis,” calling it part of a “coordinated disinformation stunt jointly staged by India and its newly found friend, the Taliban.”
According to officials who spoke to HTN, no such visa requests were ever made by Pakistan. “The so-called ‘visa denial’ story is pure fiction, not journalism. Pakistan never sought any visas, not now, not ever,” an official clarified, terming the reports “deliberate propaganda aimed at misleading the public.”
Sources added that visa requests, if any, have actually come from the other side, a fact conveniently omitted by those “crafting this fairy tale.” The officials said the narrative reveals more about the desperation of Indian and Afghan disinformation networks than it does about Pakistan’s diplomacy.
They further stated that Pakistan remains focused on peace, security, and regional stability, while “others seem busy writing fiction under the label of exclusive reports.”
“This story perfectly captures the propaganda partnership between India and the Taliban — where misinformation meets mutual convenience,” one senior security official remarked, adding that the recent border setback faced by Afghan forces has led both to “manufacture distractions to hide their embarrassment.”
