Speaking in an interview with a private organization, he claimed that anti Pakistan elements are receiving support from foreign powers. According to him, this support is aimed at creating instability in the region.
He further stated that both Afghan Taliban and Tehrik i Taliban Pakistan groups are being backed by India. He said the purpose behind this is to spread unrest in Pakistan and weaken state institutions. Call for unity and strong response to threats
At the same time, Khawaja Asif stressed the need for national unity. He said that the current situation demands that political and personal interests be set aside. Instead, national security and national interests should come first. He added that both the public and state institutions must stand together to deal with any internal or external threats.
He also praised the capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He said the military has defeated India in the past and is fully capable of defending the country again. According to him, India would not dare to take direct action against Pakistan.
Finally, he said that Pakistan wants lasting peace in the region and supports friendly relations with all neighboring countries. However, he made it clear that there will be no compromise on national security. He warned that any aggression would receive a strong and immediate response.
