London, June 9, 2025 — A nine-member high-level Pakistan parliamentary delegation led by former Foreign Minister and Chairman Pakistan People’s Party, Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, arrived in London today after concluding diplomatic engagements in Washington and New York. The delegation’s visit is aimed at projecting Pakistan’s official stance on the recent Pakistan-India clash and advocating for the peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

Prime Minister’s Initiative for Diplomatic Outreach

Appointed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the delegation has been tasked with reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to peace and regional stability. Their objective is to emphasize the urgency of resolving the Jammu and Kashmir issue in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolutions and in alignment with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Composition of the Delegation

In addition to Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the delegation includes several senior political and diplomatic figures:

  • Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani, former Caretaker Foreign Minister and Foreign Secretary

Key Engagements in London

During their stay in London, the delegation will meet with UK Parliament’s senior leadership and engage with All Parties Parliamentary Groups on Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir. They will also hold talks with officials from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

Moreover, the delegation plans to interact with leading think tanks and international media platforms. These sessions are expected to spotlight Pakistan’s proactive diplomacy and peaceful conduct amid rising tensions with India.

Emphasis on Peace, Dialogue, and Regional Cooperation

Crucially, the delegation aims to communicate Pakistan’s responsible approach and restraint in response to what it terms as India’s “reckless and belligerent actions.” The members will advocate for diplomacy over confrontation and highlight the need to prioritize dialogue.

In addition, the team will stress the necessity of reactivating the Indus Waters Treaty and call on the international community to facilitate peace-building efforts in South Asia.

Through their strategic outreach, the Pakistan parliamentary delegation hopes to reaffirm the country’s dedication to regional stability and peace.
