Earlier, he had called both ambassadors to express sorrow over the attack and conveyed Pakistan’s solidarity with the Qatari people. During the call, he voiced concern over the situation but did not mention Iran by name.

Shehbaz Urges De-escalation, Offers Support

In his meetings, the Prime Minister emphasized the urgent need to defuse tensions in the Gulf. He stressed that the region must avoid further escalation and work towards restoring calm.

Shehbaz Sharif said peace in the Gulf directly affects the broader Muslim world. He affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to help ease tensions and support dialogue among key stakeholders.

He added that diplomatic channels must stay open. Instead of confrontation, regional players must choose engagement and cooperation. He also reiterated Pakistan’s support for a stable and secure Middle East.

The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that these efforts are part of Pakistan’s proactive diplomacy to reduce risks and preserve peace.

Strategic Ties with Gulf Allies

The drone attack has raised new security concerns across the region. Although Iran has not been officially blamed, the timing has alarmed Gulf states.

Pakistan moved quickly to reassure its partners. By engaging both Qatari and Saudi envoys, Islamabad sent a message of neutrality and concern.

Pakistan maintains close relations with both countries. The Prime Minister’s meetings show that Pakistan wants to remain a bridge for peace, not a party to conflict.

Observers say Pakistan’s leadership understands the cost of regional instability. Islamabad wants to prevent further unrest that could harm economies, security, and diplomatic ties.

As tensions simmer, Pakistan’s focus remains clear. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s outreach highlights a firm, principled stand in favor of regional stability over military escalation.
