Kakul – 26 April 2025: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif addressed the grand passing-out parade at Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul on Saturday, warning India against any misadventure. PM Shahbaz Addresses PMA parade and reaffirmed that Pakistan would respond swiftly and decisively to any threat.
During the ceremony, PM Shahbaz congratulated the graduating cadets and described the armed forces as a symbol of unity, discipline, and national pride. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir attended the event as guest of honour, while the Prime Minister reviewed the parade and saluted the cadets.
Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Atta Tarar, foreign diplomats, and senior civil and military officials also attended. Upon arrival, Army Chief General Asim Munir received a formal salute, showcasing the ceremony’s grandeur.
Highlighting professionalism, PM Shahbaz praised the global reputation of Pakistan’s Armed Forces. He stressed the government’s serious efforts towards economic stability, investment, and sustainable growth.
Focusing on foreign policy, PM Shahbaz Addresses PMA parade and expressed Pakistan’s desire for peaceful relations with Afghanistan. He mentioned Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar’s visit to Kabul, reaffirming brotherly ties between the two countries.
On Kashmir, the Prime Minister reiterated that it is a disputed territory requiring resolution under UN resolutions. He emphasized that Kashmir is Pakistan’s “jugular vein” and vowed continued support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
Touching on water security, PM Shahbaz warned India against blocking Pakistan’s water, asserting that any attempt would face a strong and swift response. He stressed that water remains Pakistan’s lifeline.
The Prime Minister condemned baseless allegations following the Pahalgam incident and reaffirmed Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terror. He concluded by reminding that peace remains Pakistan’s preference but not at the cost of national dignity.
Cadets took an oath of allegiance, and awards were distributed. Under Officer Muhammad Hanan Malik won the Sword of Honour, while Zain-ul-Abideen received the Presidential Gold Medal.
