Punjab CM alleges BJP role in Amritsar and Jalandhar blasts

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann speaks amid allegations linking BJP to recent blasts in Amritsar and Jalandhar

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has alleged that the recent blasts in Amritsar and Jalandhar were carried out with the involvement of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said the aim was to create fear and instability in the state ahead of upcoming elections.

According to the Chief Minister, this follows what he described as a familiar pattern. He said that in states where the BJP plans to contest elections, tensions are first stirred. Small blasts are then carried out. As a result, people are pushed into conflicts and divided along religious and caste lines. He added that the incidents in Amritsar and Jalandhar are part of what he called the BJP’s preparations for elections in Punjab.

Government Promises to Protect Peace and Unity

Meanwhile, Mann accused the BJP of trying to destabilize Punjab to serve its political interests. He linked the incidents to what he termed the party’s politics of polarization. In his view, these actions are a planned attempt to gain political advantage by spreading fear and division.

At the same time, the Chief Minister made it clear that the state government will not allow peace to be disturbed. He said efforts would continue to maintain law and order across Punjab. He also urged the public to remain alert and united. Finally, he called on people to avoid falling into the trap of forces that seek to create unrest and discord in the state.
