Kabul: Two women have been found dead under highly mysterious circumstances in an area of Security District 18 of Afghanistan’s capital. According to local sources, one of the deceased was around 19 years old and the other approximately 35. The bodies were first discovered by local residents, who later informed the authorities. However, the cause of the killings and any information about the perpetrators remains unknown so far.
The rising incidents of violence against women and such unexplained killings across Afghanistan have triggered serious concern and fear among the public, especially women. Human rights organizations say reports of violent attacks and disturbing murders of women are emerging almost daily from different parts of the country. In most cases, neither the motives behind the killings are identified nor are the perpetrators brought to justice, allowing a sense of impunity to persist.
Local social activists argue that despite official claims of security, measures to protect women remain severely inadequate. The latest incident in Kabul has once again raised serious questions about law and order in the capital. The public and affected families are calling for transparent investigations and immediate strict legal action to curb this growing wave of violence against women.
