North Waziristan – A deadly Suicide Attack in North Waziristan killed more than a dozen soldiers in Mir Ali, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Saturday, officials confirmed. The attack, among the deadliest in recent months, took place in Khadi Market, North Waziristan.
According to security sources, the suicide bomber detonated explosives near a bomb disposal unit vehicle. The explosion killed at least 13 security personnel. Moreover, 24 people were injured, including 14 civilians.
Separately, a government official in North Waziristan told that a bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a military convoy.
Meanwhile, police officers reported that the blast caused the roofs of two houses to collapse. Consequently, six children were wounded in the incident.
This Suicide Attack North Waziristan marks one of the most severe assaults on security forces recently in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The attack highlights rising security challenges in the region.
Later, Hafiz Gul Bahadur’s armed group, a faction of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the attack. Additionally, the TTP-affiliated group Aswad al-Harb stated they killed several security personnel and destroyed vehicles, including an armored carrier.
Furthermore, the group claimed they targeted a relief convoy approaching the attack site using drones. This intensified the scale and impact of the assault.
So far, the Pakistani military has not issued an official statement regarding the attack.
