Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhry, has completed an important two-day official visit to Turkey, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation in strategic areas such as security collaboration, counterterrorism, and drug prevention.
During the visit, the Pakistani delegation led by Talal Chaudhry, which included the Interior Secretary and senior officials from the Ministry of Interior, held detailed meetings with Turkish Deputy Minister of Interior, Munir Karaloğlu, and other officials. These sessions emphasized enhancing coordination between the interior ministries of both countries and exchanging best professional practices. The Pakistani delegation also visited Turkey’s police, immigration, and anti-narcotics departments to explore new avenues for practical cooperation.
Security experts describe this visit as a continuation of Pakistan’s proactive security diplomacy. Pakistan reiterated its commitment to curbing ISIS and TTP threats on its soil and ensuring internal stability, drawing on Turkey’s successful experiences against these groups. These engagements send a clear message of regional unity against terrorism and cross-border security threats, further strengthening Pakistan’s strategic reputation on the global stage.
It is worth noting that this visit forms part of the broader framework of strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries, established over the past years by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Turkey has emerged as a major partner for Pakistan in the defense sector, while trade volume has seen an annual growth of 35%, with a target now set to reach $5 billion. Talal Chaudhry’s visit has not only revitalized security relations but also reflects sustainable ties based on shared Islamic values and mutual interests.
