US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a 90-minute phone conversation in which they discussed global peace, the Ukraine conflict, and rising tensions in the Middle East, along with several other key international issues.

According to Russian news agency TASS, this was the 12th contact between the two leaders since 2025, reflecting increasing diplomatic engagement between the two global powers.

During the conversation, both leaders reviewed possible pathways toward a lasting resolution of the Ukraine conflict. A potential ceasefire proposal around Russia’s Victory Day was also discussed. Analysts view these continued contacts as a sign of efforts to reduce global tensions and improve coordination on complex regional crises. The situation in Iran was also part of the discussion.

In a separate development, US President Donald Trump advised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a phone call to avoid launching a full-scale war against Lebanon. According to US media reports, Trump urged Netanyahu to limit actions in Lebanon in order to prevent the risk of a broader and uncontrolled regional conflict.

Earlier, during a meeting with US astronauts, President Trump made remarks regarding Iran, claiming that recent US actions had significantly damaged Iranian air capabilities. He stated that around 82 percent of Iran’s missiles had been destroyed and that Tehran’s capacity to produce new missiles had been severely reduced, weakening its offensive capabilities.
