KUNER, Afghanistan — A senior commander of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP), Syed Jalil, also known as Ghazwan, has been killed in the Pech Dara area of Kuner province, local sources report.
According to eyewitnesses, Ghazwan was returning home after attending his father’s funeral when unidentified gunmen opened fire, leaving him critically wounded. He later died from his injuries.
The attack has caused concern and fear among local residents, though the identity of the assailants remains unknown and investigations are ongoing.
Most TTP personnel are reportedly hiding in the border regions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, and internal disputes within the Taliban have often resulted in targeted killings.
Ghazwan was a notorious figure within the Pakistani Taliban and involved in violent extremist activities. His death has shocked the local community, and security forces are actively investigating the incident. Residents hope for the restoration of safety and stability in the area.
