US Vice President J.D. Vance has arrived in Islamabad along with a high-level delegation to participate in discussions aimed at restoring regional peace and stability and resolving ongoing conflicts.
A grand reception was held at Nur Khan Air Base, where Field Marshal Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi welcomed the visiting US delegation.
The American delegation reportedly includes prominent figures such as special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, highlighting the high-level nature of the engagement.
Iranian Delegation Already in Islamabad
Prior to the arrival of the US delegation, a senior Iranian delegation led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf was already present in the federal capital.
Sources suggest that Islamabad is playing a key mediating role, facilitating direct or indirect engagement between the two sides after years of strained relations, with the aim of finalizing a ceasefire framework.
Pakistan’s Central Role in Diplomacy
Officials indicate that Pakistan’s leadership is actively supporting the diplomatic process, with senior military and civilian figures present to ensure smooth coordination and security.
Analysts note that the participation of high-profile US figures such as Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner suggests that the agenda extends beyond political dialogue to include economic cooperation and long-term regional stability.
Islamabad has thus emerged as a central hub for international diplomacy, where key decisions may shape the future direction of regional and global peace efforts.
