Pakistan has strongly condemned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reckless war rhetoric, calling it dangerous and inflammatory. His remarks came during a fiery campaign-style speech in Gujarat.

Modi told Pakistanis to “choose peace or face bullets.” He urged the youth to act against terrorism. Meanwhile, the crowd cheered, many dressed in saffron and waving flags.

Soon after, Pakistan’s Foreign Office responded. It labelled the comments a “reckless provocation.” According to the official statement, Modi’s tone resembled a rally, not responsible statecraft.

Importantly, the speech followed a deadly military standoff. Earlier this month, India launched air strikes inside Pakistan. These strikes, which lacked evidence, killed civilians. In response, Pakistan shot down five Indian jets.

Subsequently, both countries exchanged drone attacks and airbase strikes. Eventually, a ceasefire was brokered by the United States on May 10.

Nevertheless, tensions remain high. Pakistan warned that Modi’s words undermine efforts for peace. The Foreign Office stressed that such statements violate the UN Charter.

Moreover, Pakistan believes Modi aims to distract the world. According to the FO, his rhetoric shifts focus from India’s human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir. Additionally, officials cited the growing marginalization of minorities under Hindutva ideology.

Pakistan Stresses Peaceful Role, Urges India to Self-Reflect

In contrast, Pakistan highlighted its peaceful record. It noted its strong role in UN peacekeeping missions and global counter-terrorism. Thus, it urged India to reflect on its own internal extremism.

Furthermore, Islamabad reminded the world of its right to self-defence. It said any aggression would be met with firm, lawful action. This response would align with Article 51 of the UN Charter.

Experts also weighed in. “Modi’s remarks may energize his supporters,” said a South Asia analyst. “However, they also risk triggering a wider crisis.”

Therefore, Pakistan called on the international community to act. It asked global leaders to rein in India’s inflammatory language and support regional stability.

In conclusion, as the region navigates fragile peace, Pakistan has made its stance clear. It will not tolerate any reckless war rhetoric.
