Balochistan, June 4, 2025 — Terrorists have abducted Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Hanif Noorzai in Balochistan, escalating security concerns in the region. The incident took place near Tigranabad as Noorzai was traveling with his family from Turbat to Quetta. Local sources report that armed men intercepted his vehicle, forcibly taking him away and fleeing the scene.

Armed Abduction Sparks Immediate Security Response

On Wednesday morning, between six to eight heavily armed militants stopped the official vehicle of Assistant Commissioner Noorzai at the Sarinakan area. They kidnapped him at gunpoint while leaving his wife, driver, and official security guard unharmed. Eyewitnesses say the abductors escaped using the official car.

Following the incident, security forces promptly launched a large-scale search operation. Authorities have initiated snap checks along Zubaida Jalal Road and other nearby routes. Moreover, intelligence agencies intensified efforts to track down the kidnappers. The swift response reflects the urgency with which officials are addressing this serious security breach.

Rising Concerns Over Safety of Civil Servants

The abduction of such a senior government officer has heightened fears regarding the safety of civil servants, especially in the Makran region of Balochistan. Security experts warn that this act of terror undermines the stability and governance of the province. Meanwhile, authorities have not yet identified the perpetrators, nor has any group claimed responsibility.

This incident comes amid rising tensions in the region, as the federal government continues its crackdown on terrorist groups. Earlier this week, security forces killed seven terrorists linked to the India-backed group Fitna al-Hindustan in two separate operations conducted on June 2, 2025.

Government Labels Terrorist Groups and Tightens Security

The federal government has officially designated all terrorist groups operating in Balochistan as “Fitna al-Hindustan.” This classification directly accuses India of fueling a proxy war in the region through these organizations. According to a Ministry of Interior notification, this move addresses the involvement of certain groups in activities that threaten Pakistan’s sovereignty, Islamic values, and cultural traditions.

The notification emphasizes that this designation aims to expose the true ideology and harmful intentions behind these groups, which are allegedly sponsored by India. The government has directed all agencies to adopt this terminology immediately, strengthening efforts to counter insurgent violence.

This announcement follows accusations from Islamabad that India has escalated indirect aggression following a recent security operation, “Marka-e-Haq,” which Islamabad describes as a major setback for militants.

Security forces continue their search and efforts to safely recover Assistant Commissioner Noorzai, underscoring the critical importance of maintaining peace and security in Balochistan amid ongoing threats.

The security situation in Balochistan remains volatile as the fight against terrorism intensifies with the government’s firm stance against Fitna al-Hindustan groups.
