Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to regional stability during high-level talks in Riyadh, emphasizing both its strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia and respectful relations with neighboring Iran. The discussions followed recent Iranian drone and missile attacks on Saudi territory, which Islamabad described as deeply concerning.
The meeting between Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman highlighted the long-standing defence collaboration between the two countries. Officials said such cooperation aims to ensure security in the Gulf and support the broader regional stability framework.
Pakistan stressed that its engagement with Saudi Arabia does not come at the expense of relations with Iran. Instead, Islamabad seeks a balanced approach, promoting dialogue and responsible conduct among all regional actors.
Pakistan’s civilian and military authorities are actively engaged in reducing tensions. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has stated that Pakistan has played a quiet but meaningful role in easing disputes between Riyadh and Tehran.
