Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to regional stability during high-level talks in Riyadh, emphasizing both its strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia and respectful relations with neighboring Iran. The discussions followed recent Iranian drone and missile attacks on Saudi territory, which Islamabad described as deeply concerning.

The meeting between Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman highlighted the long-standing defence collaboration between the two countries. Officials said such cooperation aims to ensure security in the Gulf and support the broader regional stability framework.

Pakistan stressed that its engagement with Saudi Arabia does not come at the expense of relations with Iran. Instead, Islamabad seeks a balanced approach, promoting dialogue and responsible conduct among all regional actors.

Pakistan’s civilian and military authorities are actively engaged in reducing tensions. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has stated that Pakistan has played a quiet but meaningful role in easing disputes between Riyadh and Tehran. Islamabad continues to support efforts that prevent escalation, emphasizing that dialogue and restraint remain the only sustainable path to peace.

Pakistan has called on all parties to act with prudence, warning that further escalation could threaten Gulf security, disrupt energy supplies, hinder trade routes, and impact millions of lives across the region. Officials emphasized that Pakistan will continue to leverage both diplomatic engagement and strategic partnerships to encourage de-escalation and maintain peace.

The government underlined that it stands firmly against any actions that undermine sovereign states or destabilize the region. Islamabad’s approach combines active diplomacy, responsible defence cooperation, and a commitment to maintaining stability across borders.

As tensions in the Gulf remain fragile, Pakistan’s dual approach of strengthening ties with Saudi Arabia while fostering dialogue with Iran signals its role as a responsible regional actor. Through consistent engagement and balanced policies, Islamabad aims to prevent conflict, safeguard regional interests, and promote lasting peace in one of the world’s most sensitive security environments.
