LIVERPOOL — Egyptian football superstar Mohamed Salah is set to leave Liverpool FC at the conclusion of the 2025–2026 season, bringing to an end a remarkable nine-year spell at the Premier League club.
Liverpool announced on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, that Salah had requested the club to make his departure public as soon as possible. Since joining from AS Roma in 2017, the forward has made over 435 appearances for Liverpool, establishing himself as one of the club’s greatest-ever players.
During his time at Anfield, Salah played a pivotal role in helping Liverpool secure two Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, two League Cups, and an FA Community Shield. His scoring record is equally impressive, with 255 goals, placing him third on the club’s all-time scoring list, and earning four Premier League Golden Boot awards.
Salah’s contributions on and off the pitch have left a lasting legacy at Liverpool, with fans celebrating his skill, leadership, and unforgettable moments in red. His current contract, extended for two years last April, will officially run through the end of the 2026–2027 season.
The club and supporters alike now look forward to honoring Salah’s extraordinary career and celebrating his achievements as he prepares to move on from Liverpool.
