Abu Bilal al-Manouki, identified as one of the most active figures within ISIS’s global network, was reportedly using Africa as a safe operational zone while coordinating militant activities and planning attacks against international targets.
Security officials stated that his elimination represents a significant blow to ISIS’s command structure and operational capabilities in the region. Analysts believe the development will disrupt the group’s ability to coordinate attacks and manage its networks across Africa.
The militant leader, reportedly of Nigerian origin, had been listed among globally wanted terrorists due to his involvement in high-profile extremist activities.
US defense officials expressed appreciation for Nigeria’s cooperation, calling the joint mission a successful example of international counterterrorism collaboration aimed at dismantling extremist infrastructure in the region.
