A high-level joint operation conducted by US security forces in coordination with the Nigerian Armed Forces in Nigeria has resulted in the elimination of Abu Bilal al-Manouki, the deputy commander of ISIS.

According to official sources, the mission was described as highly complex, intelligence-driven, and carefully coordinated. Authorities said the operation was carried out following a long-term intelligence tracking effort that monitored the militant leader’s movements across the African region.

Abu Bilal al-Manouki, identified as one of the most active figures within ISIS’s global network, was reportedly using Africa as a safe operational zone while coordinating militant activities and planning attacks against international targets.

Security officials stated that his elimination represents a significant blow to ISIS’s command structure and operational capabilities in the region. Analysts believe the development will disrupt the group’s ability to coordinate attacks and manage its networks across Africa.

The militant leader, reportedly of Nigerian origin, had been listed among globally wanted terrorists due to his involvement in high-profile extremist activities.

US defense officials expressed appreciation for Nigeria’s cooperation, calling the joint mission a successful example of international counterterrorism collaboration aimed at dismantling extremist infrastructure in the region.
