Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam once again won hearts in the Big Bash League as he played a calm, responsible and match-winning role in Sydney Sixers’ victory over Sydney Thunder.

Chasing a tough target of 190, the Sixers needed a composed innings in the middle. Babar delivered exactly that. He stood firm at one end, absorbed the pressure and kept the scoreboard moving with smart and elegant strokes.

During the chase, a small moment in the 11th over caught attention when Babar wanted to rotate the strike, but Steve Smith decided to keep the strike for the next over.

Babar looked briefly disappointed, but like a true professional, he stayed focused on the team’s goal and continued to bat with patience and class.

What followed showed the power of teamwork. Smith attacked in the next over and changed the match, while Babar kept holding the innings together from the other end.

This perfect balance between aggression and stability broke the back of the chase.

Babar scored a valuable 47 off 39 balls, hitting seven beautiful boundaries. His innings gave the Sixers the platform they needed to chase the big target with confidence.

Smith later completed a brilliant century, but the foundation of the chase was laid by Babar’s calm presence.

Earlier, Sydney Thunder had posted 189 for 6, powered by an unbeaten 110 from David Warner.

In the end, the Sixers won by five wickets, but for Pakistani fans, it was another reminder that Babar Azam remains one of the most reliable and graceful batters in world cricket.
