Civilian Home Struck in Loi Mamund Area

A tragic incident took place in Bajaur’s Loi Mamund area when a mortar shell landed on a residential house. According to police, the shell was fired from across the Afghan border. It hit the home of a local resident, resulting in a deadly explosion that killed three people on the spot. Among the dead were two young children, Maaz and Uzma Bibi.

Shortly after, a third victim, Saeeda Bibi, who was critically injured, also passed away in hospital. In addition, two other people, Umar Ali and Sadiqa Bibi, were injured and rushed to DHQ Hospital Khar. They are currently receiving medical treatment.

Emergency Response and Rising Border Concerns

Following the incident, security forces reached the area and started an investigation. Officials confirmed that the attack came from across the border and further details are being collected. The area was also checked for any additional threats to ensure civilian safety.

Meanwhile, local sources say such incidents have happened before in border regions. Because of this, residents often live in fear and uncertainty. Many families feel unsafe due to the repeated cross-border shelling and instability in the area.

In response, authorities are reviewing the situation and monitoring border activity more closely. The aim is to prevent further attacks and protect civilian populations living near the border.

Human Impact and Ongoing Situation

As rescue efforts continued, the injured were provided immediate medical help. Hospital officials confirmed that the condition of some victims remains serious.

For now, the situation in Loi Mamund remains tense. Security forces are maintaining presence in the area while investigations continue into the source of the mortar fire.
