Militants linked to Fitna al-Khawarij carried out attacks in two separate border regions of Pakistan, injuring six civilians in Bajaur after shelling struck a residential area, while police successfully foiled a drone attack targeting a security check post in Mianwali, officials said.

The first incident took place in the Loe Sam area of Bajaur district, where a mortar shell reportedly fired from across the border landed inside the home of a local resident identified as Sher Afser, causing a powerful explosion.

The blast injured six members of the household, including women and children, and damaged solar panels installed on the roof of the house. Livestock inside the property, including a cow and a goat, were also affected by the explosion.

Rescue teams and local authorities immediately shifted the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital in Khar for medical treatment. Officials identified the injured as Sher Afser, Parveen Bibi, Shahab, Gulali Bibi, Maria Bibi, and Nazia Bibi.

Meanwhile, in another incident along the Punjab–Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border region, Mianwali police thwarted an attempted drone strike targeting the important Dara Tang interprovincial border check post near Lakki Marwat.

According to a police spokesperson, security personnel detected suspicious drone activity near the check post during the evening hours. Militants attempted to target the police facility by dropping a grenade through the drone, but the explosive landed some distance away from the post, causing no casualties or damage.

Authorities said that nearly ten minutes later, militants dropped three additional grenades through drones inside the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa side of the border area. Two grenades reportedly landed near the Dara Tang police post in Lakki Marwat, while another fell close to a nearby fort post. No casualties or property damage were reported in those incidents either.

Following the attacks, District Police Officer Waqar Azim Kharral arrived at the scene alongside police and Elite Force personnel to review the security situation and boost troop morale.

Security officials have since intensified drone surveillance, ground monitoring, and search operations across the border region, while placing law enforcement units on high alert amid fears of further militant activity.
