The debate over security conditions and the activities of armed groups in Balochistan has once again gained attention on social media. Discussions intensified after comments made by senior journalist Hamid Mir, prompting reactions from local activists and residents.

Social activist Kiya Baloch, who hails from Balochistan, responded to Mir’s remarks by saying that making claims without proper verification is not appropriate for senior journalists. He added that ongoing governance and security challenges in the region have pushed some local individuals toward armed activities, including kidnappings.

Kiya Baloch also highlighted that when state institutions fail to act effectively, some communities feel compelled to take measures to protect themselves. According to him, this sense of insecurity contributes to the rise of small-scale armed actions in certain areas.

However, his comments drew strong criticism from multiple quarters. Critics stressed that no situation justifies the actions of armed groups. They pointed out that anti-state organizations are engaged in criminal activities such as burning trucks, extortion, and kidnappings. Such acts, they argued, only increase instability and fear among ordinary citizens.

Observers note that the conversation around security in Balochistan remains highly sensitive. While some advocate understanding the local challenges, others emphasize that lawlessness and attacks by armed groups cannot be tolerated.

The debate highlights the ongoing tension in Balochistan, showing how discussions about governance, security, and armed activities continue to spark strong reactions both locally and online.
