Balochistan is a region rich in natural beauty and breathtaking landscapes, offering vast potential for tourism development. With its extensive coastline, high mountain ranges, valleys, and deserts, the province holds a unique position as a diverse travel destination. Coastal areas stretching from Hub to Gwadar and Jiwani, along with locations such as Gadani, Kund Malir, and Ras Malan, are considered highly attractive for both domestic and international tourists.
Government Initiatives
According to Parliamentary Secretary Zareen Khan Magsi, Balochistan has immense tourism potential, but previously lacked a comprehensive tourism policy. He stated that the government is now working on a structured tourism framework that will not only be developed but also implemented through proper legislation.
He added that a tourism conference held last year was part of ongoing efforts to highlight the province’s scenic locations at an international level.
Foreign Tourist Visits Increasing
Zareen Khan Magsi noted that Balochistan’s coastal belt is safe and peaceful, and he has personally visited several of these areas. He revealed that around 40 to 50 foreign tourists visited destinations such as Kund Malir and Ras Malan last year, indicating growing international interest in the region.
He further mentioned that major islands near Hub and Gadani also hold strong potential for adventure tourism.
Economic Potential
Experts believe that improving tourism infrastructure in Balochistan could play a key role in strengthening the national economy. With its safe environment and rich natural resources, the region is ideal for eco-tourism.
The development of the tourism sector is expected to not only boost the local economy but also create new employment opportunities for the youth of the province.
