Bandar Abbas, Iran — A residential building in the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas was rocked by an explosion on Saturday, January 31, authorities report. The cause of the blast remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing.

According to official media, the explosion occurred in an eight-story building in the Moallem Boulevard area, resulting in the collapse of two floors. Several vehicles and nearby shops were also damaged.

Rescue and firefighting teams have been deployed to the site, and emergency operations are underway to assist affected residents.

Local Iranian media have denied claims that the blast targeted a commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, confirming that the explosion was not a deliberate attack on military personnel.
