Security forces and the provincial government in Balochistan have adopted a broad strategy to stop militant violence and restore stability in the province. According to officials, the banned BLA group recently launched two major campaigns called “Operation Heroes” and “Operation Heroes of Two” in an attempt to carry out coordinated attacks across different areas.

However, authorities said security forces responded quickly during Operation Heroes and stopped the group from achieving any of its targets. In the second wave of attacks, militants targeted banks, police stations and roads. Around 40 civilians lost their lives during these attacks. Officials said the purpose of these actions was to spread fear and damage economic activity in the province.

In response, the Pakistan Army launched “Operation Radd ul Fitna” and intensified operations against militant groups. According to official figures, 225 militants have been killed so far during these operations.

Meanwhile, the provincial government has also started the second phase of the Safe City Quetta project. Under this plan, areas including Sariab Road and surrounding parts of the city will be brought under a modern surveillance system. Authorities have also introduced the Safe City Authority Act in the provincial assembly to provide legal support for these security measures.

Government launches rehabilitation and youth support programs

At the same time, the government has introduced a rehabilitation program for arrested militants. Under this plan, detainees will be sent to special centers where they will receive psychological support, vocational training and government grants instead of only punishment.

Officials said the goal of this program is to reform individuals involved in violence and help them return to society as peaceful and productive citizens.

In addition, the Balochistan government has launched an Enterprise Development Program for young people. Under this initiative, 60,000 youth from six districts will receive free technical training and interest free loans to help them start small businesses and build stable livelihoods.

Furthermore, government sources claimed that some militant activities were being directed from Afghanistan by individuals linked to banned groups. Officials also said weapons left behind after the US withdrawal from Afghanistan were now being used by groups such as the BLA and TTP.

Adviser to the Chief Minister Maimoona Majeed alleged that militants were attempting to influence female students in educational institutions for suicide attacks. She also claimed that certain political groups were acting as supporters of extremist networks under the cover of rights campaigns.

In the end, the government stated that no group would be allowed to disrupt peace and development in Balochistan and vowed to continue operations against militant violence across the province.
