In Karachi, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted an intelligence-based operation in Shah Latif Town, resulting in the death of four high-value terrorists during an intense exchange of gunfire.

The operation was based on information obtained from previously arrested militants. CTD teams surrounded a suspected hideout in Malir’s Shah Latif Town. As security personnel initiated the raid, the terrorists opened fire, leading to a fierce confrontation.

During the clash, four terrorists were killed. Three were immediately identified, while the fourth remained initially unknown. Subsequent investigation and intelligence verification revealed him to be Suhail Baloch, also known as “Gurk,” a senior commander of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and a notorious militant associated with Fatah Hindustan.

Security officials stated that Suhail Baloch had previously been affiliated with the Baloch Liberation Front and joined the BLA in 2022, operating as an active commander. He was involved in planning multiple major terrorist attacks, coordinating militants, and providing weapons and logistical support.

He was directly linked to several high-profile incidents, including the brutal targeted killing of a senior government official, Deputy Commissioner Zakir Baloch in Khuzdar, and other major terrorist operations. He was responsible for the deaths of over 50 security personnel and civilians during various attacks.

Suhail “Gurk” was the commander of the BLA’s Fatah Squad in the Bolan area and maintained direct contact with leaders like Rehman Gul, Mullah Amin, and Dr. Makhu. He also dispatched five suicide bombers for the Jafar Express attack and was involved in setting up roadblocks to conduct robberies at various locations.

Security officials consider his death a major setback for active terrorist networks in the area and believe it has prevented planned large-scale attacks in Karachi.
