Afghan politician Habib Hekmatyar has made a major revelation in a video message, claiming that all key leaders and members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group are currently present on Afghan soil.

According to Hekmatyar, the Islamic Emirate is not only providing shelter to these groups but is also offering them full protection and support. His remarks appear to reinforce Pakistan’s long-standing concerns that cross-border safe havens are a major factor behind the recent wave of militancy inside Pakistan.

Allegations of Taliban Involvement in Anti-Pakistan Activities

In the video statement, Hekmatyar further alleged that members of the Afghan Taliban themselves are participating alongside TTP fighters in operations against Pakistan.

He described the issue as a reality that can no longer be concealed and warned that any large-scale Pakistani military action against these hideouts could create a serious political and defensive crisis for the Islamic Emirate.

Questions Over the Future of the Taliban Administration

Commenting on the future of the Taliban administration, Hekmatyar said the former Afghan republic survived for nearly two decades largely because it enjoyed the technological and military backing of NATO forces.

He argued that the current Taliban administration lacks both advanced military technology and broad international support needed to defend its system in the event of a major confrontation.

According to him, any direct military escalation with Pakistan could prove extremely costly for the Taliban administration and may weaken it economically and strategically within a short period of time.

Growing Diplomatic Concerns

Hekmatyar’s statement has sparked renewed debate in regional diplomatic circles. Analysts say that after his public confirmation regarding the presence of TTP and the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group inside Afghanistan, international pressure on Kabul could intensify to prevent Afghan territory from being used against neighboring countries.
