Baku – 29 April 2025: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian visited Azerbaijan, reinforcing Iran-Azerbaijan strategic ties with key cooperation agreements and high-level discussions.
Upon arrival in Baku, President Pezeshkian was warmly welcomed by top Azerbaijani officials, including First Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov. A formal reception by President Ilham Aliyev followed at the Zagulba Presidential Palace.

During a private meeting and later delegation-level talks, both leaders reaffirmed historical and cultural bonds. President Pezeshkian called for expanding regional cooperation and reiterated support for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, particularly in Karabakh.
President Aliyev echoed his counterpart, stressing the long-standing friendship between the two countries. Both leaders viewed the visit as a pivotal moment in advancing Iran-Azerbaijan strategic ties.
Seven cooperation agreements were signed, covering transportation, political consultations, cultural exchanges, health, media, and investment. These agreements reflect a shared vision for regional development.
At a joint press conference, Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for the hospitality and emphasized Iran’s readiness to collaborate across all sectors. He described the signed agreements as “strategic” and vital for regional peace and economic progress.
Aliyev emphasized the need to deepen ties further and expressed optimism for future collaborations. President Pezeshkian also met the Iranian diaspora and joined a business forum with President Aliyev.
