The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has strongly rejected media reports claiming violations of the ongoing naval blockade against Iran, stating that US forces remain fully active in enforcing maritime restrictions across all sea routes in the Middle East and beyond.
In an official statement, CENTCOM said that since the beginning of the blockade, 29 vessels have been ordered to turn back or return to their respective ports for violating blockade regulations. The statement also dismissed reports claiming that commercial ships named MV Hero II, MV Heidi, and MV Dorina had successfully broken through the blockade.
US officials clarified that the Iranian-flagged tankers Hero II and Heidi are currently anchored at Iran’s Chabahar port, after being intercepted by US forces earlier this week. Similarly, the vessel Dorina, which allegedly attempted to breach the blockade, is now under strict surveillance by a US Navy destroyer in the Indian Ocean.
CENTCOM further emphasized that the US military has global reach and remains committed to enforcing the blockade across the Middle East and beyond. The statement comes amid continued regional tensions and Washington’s ongoing policy of disrupting Iran’s economic supply chains.
