Iran Launches Operation Wa’ada Sadiq 3
Tehran- June 14, 2025: Iran launched a large-scale missile retaliation against Israel early Friday. The operation, named Wa’ada Sadiq 3, came just hours after Israel struck Iranian territory in its biggest military operation to date.
Iranian state media reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fired hundreds of ballistic missiles at Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Witnesses reported explosions and smoke rising across central Israel.
Air raid sirens sounded across major cities. Israeli authorities instructed civilians to move to shelters immediately.
Iran claimed its military also shot down more than one Israeli fighter jets over its territory and they also captured a female pilot. According to Mehr News, the missile strikes targeted Israeli military and strategic sites.
The Iranian military stated it acted in direct response to Israeli airstrikes on residential and military zones, including Tehran.

Israel on High Alert
In response, the Israeli military activated full emergency protocols. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the detection of two waves of missiles launched from Iran.
A military spokesperson told CNN that defense systems intercepted several missiles. However, some projectiles reached urban areas, causing panic but no immediate casualties.
The situation remains tense. Authorities warned that more attacks could follow.
Earlier on Thursday, Israel launched a massive offensive against Iranian military and nuclear sites. Iranian sources confirmed the deaths of four top generals, including Major General Mohammad Bagheri and IRGC commander Hossein Salami.
The strikes also killed six nuclear scientists and at least 78 civilians, including women and children. Over 100 others sustained injuries.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei condemned the attack. He vowed harsh revenge, calling Israel’s actions a “grave mistake” that would bring “bitter consequences.”
The United States and the United Nations urged both sides to de-escalate. However, the exchange of fire shows no signs of slowing.
Iran’s powerful missile retaliation signals a dangerous new phase in the conflict. With each side suffering heavy losses, the risk of wider war now looms large over the region.
