A tragic fire at a seminary in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has left one student dead and four others seriously injured. The incident took place in the Anantnag district, also known as Islamabad district, during the late hours of Monday night.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the fire broke out at around 1:30 am at Darul Uloom Baba Haidari Reshi, located in the Purana Bus Adda area. Within a short time, the flames spread through the building and created panic among the students staying inside.

Soon after the incident was reported, teams from the Fire and Emergency Services reached the site and began rescue operations with the help of local residents.

Rescue Teams Save Several Students as Investigation Begins

Officials said that several students were safely evacuated after rescue workers managed to control the fire. However, a 15 year old student identified as Bilal Ahmad suffered severe burn injuries and later died from his wounds.

Meanwhile, the four injured students were shifted to a nearby hospital where they are receiving medical treatment.

Police have registered a case and started an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

Following the heartbreaking incident, a mood of grief has spread across the area. At the same time, local residents have expressed serious concern over safety arrangements at the seminary.
