Security forces have carried out a successful intelligence-based operation in Khyber district, killing a key commander of the banned outfit “Fitna al-Khawarij,” identified as Umar alias Ghazi.
According to security sources, the operation was conducted on the basis of precise intelligence in a specific area of Khyber, targeting the high-value militant commander who was involved in multiple attacks against security forces and civilians.
Officials said the operation is part of an ongoing and coordinated strategy aimed at eliminating terrorism from the region and ensuring long-term peace and stability.
Details of the Operation
Security sources stated that the militant commander was tracked and engaged during a targeted raid, where he was neutralized by security forces. Authorities added that surveillance and intelligence-based monitoring of militant networks in the region remain active to disrupt any further hostile activities.
Officials further said that security forces are continuously dismantling militant hideouts and operational networks to prevent regrouping and future attacks.
Cross-Border Linkages Under Observation
Sources indicated that sustained pressure from security operations has forced militant elements to retreat from their previous safe areas. Some reports suggest that these groups have linkages across the border, while Pakistani security institutions continue efforts to restrict their movement and operational capacity.
Authorities maintain that ongoing operations are part of a broader counterterrorism strategy to eliminate all militant threats operating in and around the border regions.
Commitment to Lasting Peace
Security officials reiterated that actions against those involved in violence against civilians and security forces will continue without interruption.
They added that operations will remain ongoing until terrorism is fully eradicated and durable peace is achieved in the region.
