The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has released a detailed report on ongoing operations against banned militant organizations, including Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Gul Bahadur group, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, and Lashkar-e-Islam. The report states that militant networks across the province have been significantly weakened over the past six years.

According to the CTD report, a total of 15,403 intelligence-based operations were conducted during this period. These operations resulted in the killing of 1,557 terrorists and the arrest of 4,487 others. The report further adds that 287 arrested militants were awarded strict punishments after being convicted by courts.

Performance in 2026

The report highlights an increased pace of operations in 2026. So far this year, 818 intelligence-based operations have been carried out, resulting in the killing of 243 terrorists and the arrest of 84 others. Several militants have also been convicted in court, reflecting improved prosecution outcomes and operational effectiveness.

Crackdown on Banned Groups

CTD officials stated that these operations are being conducted on the basis of specific intelligence to dismantle terrorist networks, their facilitators, and financial support systems.

The report adds that pressure on groups such as the Gul Bahadur faction and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar has been further intensified to ensure the protection of civilian lives and property across the province.
