Trump Announces Breakthrough After Diplomatic Talks

Washington has announced a major development in the Middle East. Former US President Donald Trump said that Lebanon and Israel have agreed to a 10 day ceasefire. He shared the news through his social media platform Truth Social. According to him, both sides have agreed to stop fighting as part of a new peace effort.

Trump said he spoke in detail with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. After these talks, both countries agreed to begin the ceasefire. He also said the agreement will start at 5 PM. This step, he added, is meant to reduce tensions in the region.

Rare Diplomatic Meeting After Decades of Silence

In addition, Trump highlighted a rare diplomatic moment. He said representatives of Lebanon and Israel met in Washington DC earlier this week. This was the first such meeting in 34 years. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also attended the discussions.

Meanwhile, Trump said he instructed Vice President JD Vance and Secretary Rubio to work closely with both sides. The goal is to move toward a more stable and long term peace agreement. He described the progress as an important success of ongoing diplomatic efforts.

Furthermore, Trump called the ceasefire a positive step for regional peace. He said he feels honored to help end global conflicts through negotiation. However, he also noted that long term stability will still depend on future talks and commitments from both countries.

At the same time, the region remains sensitive due to ongoing tensions. Experts believe this ceasefire could provide temporary relief, but lasting peace will require stronger political agreements. For now, the announcement is being seen as a significant but cautious step toward reducing conflict between Lebanon and Israel.
