Western media’s prominent coverage of Mah Rang Baloch has sparked serious questions, with analysts calling it a one-sided portrayal that ignores the realities of terrorism in Balochistan.
According to analysts, an international newspaper report presented Mah Rang Baloch as a victimized voice. However, it completely overlooked the background of terrorism and the on-ground realities.
Security sources note that an examination of Mah Rang Baloch’s family background and political affiliations shows links to elements previously associated with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), an internationally recognized terrorist organization.
Sources state that his father, Abdul Ghaffar Lango, was previously identified as a commander linked to the BLA.
Analysts point out that while the Baloch Unity Committee (BYC) claims to conduct peaceful activities, its protest rhetoric and actions often support elements involved in armed operations against the state.
Furthermore, observers note that the BYC has not clearly condemned the BLA’s suicide wing, the “Majid Brigade,” while on some occasions portraying suicide attackers as symbols of resistance.
Experts argue that this approach indicates the BYC is not merely a social platform but is promoting a narrative that creates a permissive environment for extremism.
They warned that such portrayals can increase radicalization among young people and serve as a recruitment source for terrorist organizations.
