News Desk – 02 May 2025: Digital creator and law graduate Misha Agarwal died by suicide on April 24, two days before her 25th birthday, her family confirmed. Misha Agarwal Instagram account was rapidly losing and followers.

The young entrepreneur had reportedly become overwhelmed by a drop in her Instagram followers. Her family revealed this in an emotional statement posted on her official social media account.

“Misha built her world around Instagram and aimed to reach one million followers,” the statement read. “When the numbers dropped, she felt her life was falling apart.”

Agarwal’s sister shared heartbreaking details of her final days. “Since April, she became deeply depressed. She would often hug me and cry, asking what she’d do if followers kept falling,” she said.

Despite having an LLB degree and preparing for judicial exams, Misha had tied her self-worth to her online presence. Her sister said she often reminded Misha of her other talents, advising her to treat Instagram as just entertainment.

“She was told to focus on real happiness, not virtual numbers. Sadly, she couldn’t detach from the pressure,” her sister added.

The influencer’s last phone wallpaper read, “Reach 1M followers,” showing the depth of her obsession with social media goals. Misha Agarwal Instagram had 400K followers at the time of her death.

Misha’s death has reignited concerns over digital well-being and mental health awareness. Experts warn about the dangers of social media obsession, especially among young creators.

Her family hopes her story will raise awareness about mental health. “We are shattered. We never imagined Instagram could take our daughter away,” they said.
