Islamabad – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has harshly rejected the viral allegations circulating on social media that the organization has a discriminatory notice at its office in Sargodha. NADRA has strongly dismissed the reports claiming it as fake news and emphasizing its role of serving all citizens without discrimination.

To suppress the fake news, NADRA released an official statement that stated that there is no such discriminatory directive that is exhibited in any of its facilities within the country.

The Danger of Unverified Claims

Media observers and analysts are cautioning the public about the ease with which unverified visual claims can cause social harm.

Although they accept that under high-pressure public service conditions, daily identity checks may be misinterpreted and misconstrued, any allegation of institutional discrimination must be backed up with substantive, on-ground verifications before it can be disseminated.

The viral distribution of these unsubstantiated assertions, despite their well-intended contribution, may unconsciously contribute to ethnic suspicion and divert attention from honest national debates concerning service reform and inclusion.

NADRA has stated that it reserves the right to initiate legal action on false news.
