ISLAMABAD – Across Pakistan, Ashura is being observed today (Sunday) with deep religious devotion to honor the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the martyrs of Karbala.

Throughout the country, mourning processions and majlis gatherings are being held. Scholars and religious leaders highlight the message of sacrifice and perseverance exemplified by Imam Hussain (RA) at Karbala.

Special religious events and gatherings are also organized. Scholars are explaining the importance of Imam Hussain’s (RA) resistance against tyranny and his legacy of courage.

Meanwhile, strict security arrangements have been enforced nationwide. Police and Rangers have been deployed in all major cities to maintain law and order.

Authorities have established security checkpoints on the routes of processions and around majlis venues. Extraordinary measures are in place to prevent any untoward incidents.

Due to security concerns, mobile phone services are being partially suspended in sensitive areas during Ashura. Officials say this step is aimed at ensuring public safety and preventing potential disturbances.

Moreover, double riding on motorcycles has been banned in many parts of the country. The restriction is intended to reduce security risks during processions and religious gatherings.

Ashura reminds Muslims of patience, sacrifice, and standing firm on principles. It commemorates the day when Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions laid down their lives in Karbala, raising the voice of truth against injustice. Every year, Muslims mark this day with solemn respect and commitment to Imam Hussain’s message.
