Intense clashes broke out overnight between Pakistani security forces and Taliban fighters along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Chaman and Spin Boldak sectors, with both sides exchanging heavy gunfire.

According to sources, the fighting began around 9:45 p.m. across multiple points along the Kandahar–Chaman border, reportedly triggered by a border dispute. Intermittent firing and shelling continued for several hours, spreading fear and panic among residents in nearby areas. While the exchange of fire has now subsided, the atmosphere remains tense and uncertain.

Casualties Reported on Both Sides

Initial reports indicate that four Pakistani soldiers were killed in the clashes. In retaliatory fire, six Afghan Taliban fighters were also reported killed. Injured personnel from both sides have been shifted to nearby medical facilities, where some are said to be in critical condition.

Security Situation Remains Fragile

Following the deadly confrontation, the security situation along the border has become highly sensitive. Both sides have placed their forces on high alert and reportedly deployed additional reinforcements to the area.

Officials are said to be attempting contact to prevent further escalation, but uncertainty continues to prevail across the border regions.
