ISLAMABAD- MARCH,29 – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Sunday said Pakistan remains actively engaged in regional and international efforts to help end ongoing conflicts and promote dialogue, as the second meeting of foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt concluded in Islamabad.
The visiting foreign ministers were in Pakistan at Dar’s invitation and also called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif during their stay, according to official details.
In his concluding statement, Dar said the four foreign ministers held “very detailed and in-depth discussions” on the evolving regional situation, with a strong focus on pathways to an early and lasting end to the ongoing war in the region.
He said the participants expressed concern over the humanitarian and socio-economic impact of the conflict, noting that continued hostilities were harming lives and livelihoods across the wider region.
The ministers agreed that the war serves no party’s interest and only leads to further destruction, while stressing the importance of unity within the Muslim world during challenging times.
Dar informed the visiting ministers about prospects of potential US–Iran talks in Islamabad, a development he said received full support from the participating countries.

The meeting reaffirmed collective commitment to de-escalation, prevention of further military escalation, and the creation of conditions for structured negotiations between relevant stakeholders.
The foreign ministers also emphasized dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable path toward sustainable peace, while calling for adherence to the UN Charter, including respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states. According to the statement, the ministers also discussed ways to deepen cooperation among the four countries.
Dar expressed gratitude to his counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt for their support, adding that Pakistan, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has remained actively engaged with global partners to support peace initiatives.
He said Pakistan has also maintained close contact with United States leadership as part of broader diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and work toward a peaceful resolution.
The deputy prime minister further stated that both Iran and the United States have expressed confidence in Pakistan’s role as a potential facilitator for talks. He added that Pakistan would be “honoured” to host and facilitate meaningful negotiations between the two sides in the coming days for a comprehensive and lasting settlement.
Dar also noted that China, in a conversation with Foreign Minister Wang Yi, expressed full support for Pakistan’s initiative, while the UN Secretary-General and other international partners have also backed the peace efforts.
He said there is growing international appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic role and reaffirmed that Islamabad will continue its efforts with “sincerity and commitment” to help bring an end to the conflict.
