Pakistan’s military media wing (ISPR) has declared that terrorists will be targeted without exception, regardless of their location. According to the spokesperson, the state will not compromise on national security or the protection of its citizens, and every attack will be met with a strong and effective response.
The statement highlighted that the Afghan Taliban government has failed to prevent its soil from being used against Pakistan. Cross‑border militant groups are involved in planning and facilitating destructive activities inside Pakistan, making decisive action inevitable.
Bannu Attack: Major Tragedy Averted
ISPR revealed that the recent attack on security forces in Bannu was linked to the Gul Bahadur group based in Afghanistan. The terrorists intended to target innocent civilians and personnel, but timely and effective action by security forces prevented a major tragedy.
During the operation, a suicide bomber driving an explosives‑laden vehicle was intercepted. When their plans failed, the attackers rammed the vehicle into a security convoy. As a result, Lieutenant Colonel Shehzada Gulfaraz and Sepoy Karamat Shah embraced martyrdom, while five terrorists were killed in the retaliatory action.
Decisive Phase in Anti‑Terror Campaign
ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s war against terrorism has entered a decisive stage, and no safe havens will be allowed for hostile elements. The military reaffirmed its resolve to eradicate terrorism completely, pledging to continue operations until the last terrorist is eliminated.
