Pakistan Dismisses Nuclear Strike Claims in national interest

Ishaq Dar denies nuclear strike rumors, urges responsible reporting.

June 16, 2025

Islamabad, June 16, 2025: — Pakistan has strongly denied recent social media rumors suggesting it threatened a nuclear strike on Israel. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar called these claims “false, fabricated, and dangerous,” warning that such disinformation directly harms the national interest.

He stated, “Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state. Our nuclear and missile programs serve only to defend our sovereignty and ensure national security.”

The rumors gained traction following rising tensions in the Middle East. Some misleading posts falsely claimed Pakistan had made aggressive nuclear statements. However, no official Pakistani authority released any such declaration.

Government Urges Caution

In response, Ishaq Dar urged media platforms, influencers, and the general public to avoid spreading unverified information. “Irresponsible statements and fake news mislead people and damage Pakistan’s global reputation,” he warned.

He emphasized the importance of checking facts before sharing sensitive content. “Even a single reckless comment can trigger unnecessary panic or diplomatic tension,” Dar added.

Pakistan Upholds Nuclear Oversight to Protect National Interest

Officials have confirmed that Pakistan’s defense protocols remain firmly under control. The nuclear command structure operates with strict oversight. There is no deviation from the country’s peaceful and defensive posture.

Cybercrime authorities may investigate the origin of the fake posts. Legal action is also under consideration against those spreading misinformation. Clear communication and fact-based reporting are vital to preserving peace and national interest.

National Credibility at Risk

Security experts say that in nuclear matters, even minor rumors can escalate into serious consequences. Misleading content weakens international trust and diverts focus from real policy priorities.

Dar concluded by calling for national unity and responsible behavior. “These fake claims not only misguide our citizens, they also put Pakistan’s standing in the world at risk. We must stand together to protect our national interest,” he said. Spreading unverified information, experts warn, could trigger diplomatic tensions and undermine Pakistan’s strategic stability.
