Islamabad Pushes Active Role in Regional Peace Efforts
Islamabad has once again highlighted its role as a mediator between the United States and Iran. In the weekly briefing, the Foreign Office said Pakistan is helping both sides continue dialogue and reduce tensions. Officials said communication channels with Washington and Tehran remain open and active.
The spokesperson explained that Pakistan believes dialogue is the only way to resolve complex disputes. Therefore, it has been facilitating messages and encouraging both sides to stay engaged in talks. According to the briefing, this approach reflects Pakistan’s wider diplomatic strategy of supporting peace through negotiation.
In addition, the Foreign Office said recent high level contacts included visits and meetings linked to the ongoing diplomatic process. Although no final agreement has been reached yet, officials described the talks as productive and still ongoing.
Afghanistan, Kashmir and Global Issues in Focus
Moving beyond Iran and the US, Pakistan also repeated its concerns about regional security. On Afghanistan, the Foreign Office stressed that Afghan soil must not be used for attacks against Pakistan. It said Islamabad is seeking written and verifiable assurances from Kabul to prevent cross border terrorism.
At the same time, the briefing covered a wide range of international issues including Kashmir and Palestine. Pakistan strongly criticized recent developments in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and raised concerns about rising violence against minorities. It also condemned Israeli actions in Gaza and Lebanon, calling for protection of civilians and respect for international law.
Meanwhile, officials said Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach continues with several global partners including Gulf states, China, Europe and the United Nations. These contacts are part of what Islamabad describes as a broader effort to keep dialogue active on multiple fronts.
In conclusion, the briefing presented Pakistan as a country trying to balance regional tensions through diplomacy. From Washington to Kabul and from Gaza to Kashmir, officials said Pakistan aims to stay engaged and supportive of peaceful solutions rather than confrontation.
